Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Uronema is Uronema confervicola Lagerheim.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Okellya marina (Womersley) Wetherbee.

Wetherbee, R., Bringloe, T.T., Leliaert, F. & Verbruggen H. (2024). Molecular data and culture observations show that the microfilamentous marine alga Uronema marinum Womersley is a member of the genus Okellya Leliaert & Rueness (Cladophorales, Chlorophyta).
