Halimeda versatilis J.Agardh
Lectotype locality: Cape Riche, Western Australia (34.60° S, 118.75° E) [Australia] (Cremen & al. 2016: 866). Lectotype: W.H.Harvey; Mar. 1854, as Halimeda macroloba Decne. in Algae Australicae Exsiccatae ; LD herb. alg. Agardh 15894 (Cremen & al. 2016: 866). Notes: Silva et al. (1996) recommend consulting Hillis (1959: 346) for more information on the type locality of this species.

Adjective (Latin), wedge-shaped (Brown 1946).
