Taxonomic note
"This species was described by Ercegovic (1949a: 61, figs 7-8) from the middle eastern Adriatic. Afterwards, Ercegovic (1957: 84 and 1963: 12 and 46, figs 7-8), gave further vegetative and ecological data of that species of which he collected also a cystocarpic thallus. Then the species was no more recorded. According to Codomier (1972a: 83) this species is close to Kallymenia feldmannii. With ref-erence to the above quoted papers by Ercegovic, the species was reported by Antolic et al. (2013: 53) and by Ballesteros in Coll et al. (2010: 122) who listed it among taxa inquirenda with the comment 'entity of uncertain taxonomic position'. Athanasiadis (2016: 697) lists this species among incertae sedis of Cryptonemiales." (Cormaci, Furnari & Alongi 2021: 77). - (10 August 2021) - M.D. Guiry
