Type locality: Bjord-El-Kiffan (Algiers beach), Algeria (Verlaque & Seridi 1991: 155). Holotype (sterile): H. Seridi; 30 April 1989; 0-0.5 m depth. Phycological Herbarium of Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris F.1306 (Verlaque & Seridi 1991: 155). Notes: Isotypes F.1307 (sterile) in phycological Herbarium of Muséem of LBMEB, Faculté des Sciences de Luminy, Marseille.
