This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Phyllymenia.
Status of name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Phyllymenia belangeri (Bory) Setchell & N.L.Gardner
Type locality: Cape of Good Hope, South Africa (Silva & al. 1996: 900). Lectotype: LD 22831 (De Clerck & al. 2005: 172).
