Type locality: Tami Island, Huon Gulf, Papua New Guinea (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 250). Lectotype: Bamler; date not indicated; PC unnumbered, General Herbarium box collection (non-fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym); designated by Verheij, 1993: 43 (see also Verheij, 1994: 103) (Woelkerling 1998: 363). Notes: Isolectotypes: PC, unnumbered, Sauvageau Herbarium; C, unnumbered; TRH, unnumbered, includes slide 652.
