This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gracilaria beckeri (J.Agardh) Papenfuss.
Type Information
Type locality: "Cap. b. Spei" [Cape of Good Hope]; (Agardh 1890: 36) Notes: According to Silva, Basson & Moe, the type locality is probably the mouth of Kowie River, Port Alfred, Cape Province, South Africa.
