Holotype locality: Haikou, Hainan Island, Guangdong Province China; (Chang & Xia 1988: 131) Holotype: Zhang Junfu and Xia Bangmei; 1 April 1986; cultured in a pond; QD; 86-652 (Chang & Xia 1988: 131) Notes: Holotype: Tetrasporangial. Syntypes in AST and BISH. Syntype localities include: Guangdong Province: Haikang County; Haikou, Hainan Island; Dongfang County, Hainan Island; Guangxi Province: Hepu County; Beihai; Taiwan: TungKang, Ping-tung County; Thailand: Pattani; Da Toh.
