Type locality: "in portu" [in the harbour, St. Thomas Harbor, Virgin Islands] (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 25). Lectotype: TRH A1-8 (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 25).

Participle B (Latin), deceiving (used of a species closely resembling another) (Stearn 1973).
