Binomial also proposed by Mastrorilli, V.I. 1968:153, with Basionym Lithothamnion stefaninii Airoldi 1932 and Current Name Sporolithon airoldii (Fravega) Vannucci, Quaranta & Basso 2010, but it was illegitimate: not Archaeolithothamnion stefaninii Rainieri 1929.
