The type species (holotype) of the genus Craspedocarpus is Craspedocarpus erosus (J.D.Hooker & Harvey) F.Schmitz.
Status of name
This name is of an entity that is currently accepted taxonomically.
Delesseria ramentacea C.Agardh
Type locality: "Ad litus meridionale Novae Hollandiae. Vidi in coliectione Musaei Parisiensis" (Agardh 1822: 177). Lectotype: LD Herb. Agardh, 27352 (Womersley 1994: 425). Notes: Agardh specifically designates as type Fucus N:o B b, Musei Parisiensis, so it peculiar that lectotype in LD has been designated.
This is a marine species.
Found in deep water on open coasts or where there is strong current flow (Womersley 1994: 427)
