This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Bossiella californica (Decaisne) P.C.Silva
Type locality: Isla San Benito, Baja California (Taylor 1945: 193). Holotype: W.L. Schmitt; 6 Apr. 1933; Hancock Foundation (Taylor 1945: 193).
Origin of species name
Participle A (Latin), narrowed (Sreenivasa Rao 1965).
