The type species (lectotype) of the genus Vidalia is Vidalia spiralis (J.V.Lamouroux) J.V.Lamouroux ex J.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Osmundaria spiralis var. cliftonii (Harvey) R.E.Norris.
