Type Information
Type locality: Madras, India; (Silva & al. 1996: 362) Type: Wight; Herb. Agardh, LD; (Index Nominum Algarum) Notes: This type locality was first recorded through a personal comment from I. Price. Dawson (1953: 86): Holotype is a specimen collected by Wight, probably in the Hooker Herbarium at Kew, England. According to Feldmann, 1931, an isotype is in the Agardh Herbarium, Lund, Sweden. Data from INA and Silva et al. (1996) refer to Gelidium variabile J. Agardh.
