Nomenclatural note
See Komárek & Anagnostidis (2005: 96) for the erroneous interpretation by Meffert (1987) of the delimitation of Oscillatoria amphigranulata van Goor 1918, when transferring this species to Limnothrix. Despite this the nomenclatural transfer is valid. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
