This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Corallophila.
Status of name
This name is of an entity that is currently accepted taxonomically.
Neotype locality: Soccoro, Kapingamarangi Atoll, Federated States of Micronesia (Norris 1993: 339). Neotype: J.Newhouse; 8 Dec. 1953; BISH 504926 (on a slide) (Norris 1993: 339). Notes: Huisman (2018: 411) notes: "This species was originally described based on a specimen from Nias Island, Sumatra, Indonesia, collected by Dr Kleiweg De Zwaan. According to Norris (: 392–394), no specimens could be located in Leiden, and he therefore proposed neotypification."
