Type information
Type locality: wet bank nr. Larne, Co. Antrim, Ireland. (Ralfs 1843: 349). Lectotype: David Moore; BM slide 81496 (Crawford 1988: 414, figs 21, 22, 29, 53-56).

Adjective (Latin), in sandy places.
