The type species (holotype) of the genus Eupodiscus is Eupodiscus radiatus Bailey.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Actinocyclus roperi (Brébisson) Grunow ex Van Heurck.

Cites "Coscinodiscus ovalis. Rop." and elaborates: "This is certainly Roper's Coscinodiscus ovalis ( Journ. Micr. Sc., vi., p. 3, f. 4.)
