Type locality: Heidlacke. 1. Burgenland. Osterreich [Austria]; (Simonsen 1987: 458) Holotype: BRM; 391/15- Heidlacke. 1. Burgenland. Osterreich. (Simonsen 1987: 458) Notes: Simonsen (1987: 458) writes: "In Lange-Bertalot & Simonsen (Bacillaria 1, p 55, 1978) I proposed a different slide than that cited below as lectotype, but the specimens on that slide are not marked. We are now able to present a slide with marked specimens named "Nitzschia" on the label, and this is here accepted as the holotype."
