This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Trigonium arcticum (Brightwell) Cleve
Type locality: Beechy Island, Arctic Regions: Dr. Sutherland and sparingly from other parts of the Arctic Seas (Index Nominum Algarum).
Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), of or pertaining to the Arctic (Stearn 1973).
