Holotype locality: Scott Nunataks, Edward VII Peninsula, Antarctica (Broady & Ingerfeld 1993: 28). Holotype: P.A. Broady; 19 December 1987; from a unialgal culture isolated from chasmoendolithic growths. CHR 401419 (Broady & Ingerfeld 1993: 28).
