However, if this entity is regarded taxonomically as a Gracilaria, it will require a new name. The name Gracilaria bailiniae J. Zhang & B.M. Xia nom. illeg., a substitute name for Gracilaria heteroclada J. Zhang & B.M. Xia, cannot be used as it was superfluous when published and is therefore illegitimate.
