This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pseudo-nitzschia granii (Hasle) Hasle
Type locality: Norwegian Sea (60°30'N, 11°20'W) (Hasle 1974: 426). Holotype : G.R.H.; 21 June 1959; Univ. Oslo marked specimens on IMBB slide no. 11 (Hasle 1974: 426). Notes: "Johan Hjort" stations (INA).
