The type species (holotype) of the genus Pterosiphonia is Pterosiphonia cloiophylla (C.Agardh) Falkenberg.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Symphyocladiella gracilis (Kylin) D.Bustamante, B.Y.Won, S.C.Lindstrom & T.O.Cho.
