The type species (holotype) of the genus Chloromonas is Chloromonas reticulata (Goroschankin) Gobi.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gloeomonas rubrifilum (Korshikov) Shin Watanabe, Nozaki, Nakda & L.A.Lewis.
