Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Amphidinium is Amphidinium operculatum Claparède & Lachmann.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Nusuttodinium poecilochroum (J.Larsen) Y.Takano & T.Horiguchi.
