Type locality: Newfoundland Banks; Azores; Canaries (Index Nominum Algarum).
Subgenus Tipoceratium Section Limulus
No synonyms are currently included in AlgaeBase.
Gomez et al. (2020: 43) cite C. paradoxoides as a representative species of the subgenus Tripoceratium and section Limulus. Presumably, this was an error and C. paradoxides was intended. - (19 Oct 2011) - Wendy Guiry
