This is a marine species.
Type locality: Erscotts Hole, Lord Howe Island. (Kraft 2000: 556). Holotype: 13 Dec. 1986; far back under shading overhangs along the coral bank, 3-5 m depth. MELU A39928 (fig. 19A) (Kraft 2000: 556).
