According to Silva et al. (1996: 871) "Gopinathan & Panigraphy did not give an author for this name and we have been unable to find its place of publication." Gupta (2012: 252) cited the name like this: "Halimeda peltata C.P. Gopin. & Panigrahy in Bull. Cent. Mar. Fish. Res. Inst. 34:49. 1983."
