Although Kützing (1849: 351) describes this entity as Schizogonium latetevirens var. crispum, he clearly mentions that this is a synonym of the previously described Schizogonium crispatum (Kützing, 1843: 246). Therefore, Schizogonium laetevirens var. crispatum is the correct name for this entity.
