Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Acrochaetium is Acrochaetium secundatum (Lyngbye) Nägeli.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Acrochaetium microscopicum (Nägeli ex Kützing) Nägeli.
