Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Lepocinclis is Lepocinclis globulus Perty.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lepocinclis conica (P.Allorge & M.Lefèvre) Zakryś & Łukomska.

Type locality: France, Sologne region, pond Grande-Taille; (Allorge & Lefèvre 1931: 130) Notes: "Lectotype: designated herein, Allorge and Lefevre 1925, fig. 74 Epitype: designated herein, Figure 3h that supports the lectotype (Allorge and Lefevre 1925, fig. 74)." (Lukomska-Kowalczyk & al. 2019: 289).
