Type locality: Yinggehai, Hainan Island, Hainan Province, China (Xia & Wang 2002: 231). Holotype: Xia Bangmei, Kuang Mei and Wang Yongqiang; 21 September 1993; growing in a rock pool in the intertidal zone. QD 93-0773 (Xia & Wang 2002: 231). Notes: Holotype: cystocarpic.
