The type species (lectotype) of the genus Conjugata is Conjugata princeps Vaucher.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Zygnema pectinatum (Vaucher) C.Agardh.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), pectinate, with narrow close-set divisions like a comb (Stearn 1973).
