This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gelinaria ulvoidea Sonder
Type locality: "Hab. Georgetown Tasmaniae - (Miss Goodwin.)" [Georgetown, Tasmania] (Zanardini 1874: 504). Holotype: Goodwin; MCVE (Womersley & Lewis 1994: 208).
