Pentapharsodinium trachodium Indelicato & Loeblich III 1986 (INA). Misapplied name: P. trachodium Indelicato & Loeblich (D'Onofrio et al. 1999: 1066). D'onofrio et al. argue that E. loeblichii is the first validly described Ensiculifera species (i.e. the type of the genus) and thus could not be transferred later to a new genus as proposed by Indelicato & Loeblich (1986). - (10 Apr 2012) - Wendy Guiry
E. loeblichii lacks character from which generic name is derived (INA). - (14 Jan 2016) - Wendy Guiry
According to D'Onofrio et al. (1999: 1066), Peridinium loeblichii (Cox & Arnott) Dale is a synonym of E. loeblichii. - (11 Apr 2012) - Wendy Guiry
