Taxonomic note
Evidence for two different taxa classified as C. subsalsa. It seems that strain CCMP217 (Gulf of Mexico) and other genetically similar strains should be described under a new species name but detailed morphological and molecular analysis of more strains is necessary (Klopper et al. 2013). - (12 June 2013) - G.M.
