Type Information
Type locality: Russian Federation, vicinity of Moskva city, Mikhailovskoe village, in swamps and ponds.; (Elenkin 1911: 162)
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), a sombre brown, but often used to indicate darkness of colour (Stearn 1973).
