This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Tripos gallicus (Kofoid) F.G├│mez.

Type locality: Madagascar: N of cap d'Ambre; (INA 1996) Type: collection Sournia: 100 m depth; (INA 1996) Notes: Habitat oceanum Indicum in vicino Succinei promontorii (Sournia, 1972: 74).
