Type locality: Nhatrang, Khanh Hoa Province, southern central Vietnam (Nguyen Huu Dai 2004: 76). Holotype: Nguyen Huu Dai; 15 May 1986; Herbarium of the Institute of Oceanography, Nhatrang, Vietnam Male 86086 (Nguyen Huu Dai 2004: 76).

Adjective (Latin), serrated, saw-edged with teeth pointing forwards (Stearn 1985).
