Epitype: The strain UTEX 965 permanently preserved in a metabolically inactive state (cryopreservation in liquid nitrogen) in the Culture Collection of Algae at the University of Texas at Austin (UTEX), Department of Botany, The University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Texas 78713-7640, USA."
