Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Triceratium is Triceratium favus Ehrenberg.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pseudictyota bicornis (Cleve) P.A.Sims & D.M.Williams.
Type Information
Syntypes locality: "St. Bartholomew. I have found this species in a gathering from Java and from California" [Collectivité territoriale de Saint-Barthélemy, also known Ouanalao, West Indies]; (Cleve 1878: 17) Notes: A lectotype does not seem to have been selected.
