This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Trossulus elegantulus (Grove & Sturt) R.Ross & P.A.Sims
Type locality: New Zealand: Oamaru, Otago district (Upper Eocene) (Index Nominum Algarum). Type: BM slide 52707 (Index Nominum Algarum Notes: BM: slide 52707 (epitype designated by Ross & Sims, 2002: 180, figs 8, 9, but incorrectly termed neotype (INA).
Described as a fossil.
