Taxonomic note
Taxon inquirendum (Cormaci, Furnari & Alongi 2014: 200), who write "This species was described from Palermo (Sicily) by Meneghini (1844: 303). Ardissone (1886) considered it as conspecific with Bryopsis myura J. Agardh (=Pseudobryopsis myura); conversely, according to Pignatti (1962b: 42) it is conspecific with B. muscosa. - (03 July 2015) - M.D. Guiry
