This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Envekadea hedinii (Hustedt) Van de Vijver, Gligora, Hinz, Kralj & Cocquyt.

Type locality: Mapiek-köll, Tibet; (Index Nominum Algarum) Type: Freshwater lake dominated by Utricularia vulgaris Linnaeus; (Gligora et al. 2009: 123) Notes: Gligora et al. (2009) cite the following as the type locality: Mapiek köll (eastern Turkestan); eastern Turkestan (China).
