Holotype locality: Wistari Reef, near Heron Island, Capricorn Group, Great Barrier Reef Province, Queensland, Australia (Noble 1986: 337). Holotype: D. Fisk; 14 November 1976; Channel floor subject to strong tidal surge in which low coral mounds (bommies) are widely dispersed across a flat covered in coarse coral sand.. MELU 22898 (Noble 1986: 337).
