Type locality: Isla Partida, Gulf of California, Mexico Holotype: Feb. 22, 1946; On shaded cliff rocks in the spray zone, growing with Porphyra thuretii. AHF 4117 (Dawson slide 878, vial 1635) Notes: Holotype: AHFH 4117 in UC, collected by E.Y.Dawson (Sutherland et al. 2011: 1144).
