Nomenclatural note
"Lamprothamium succinctum is not currently recognised for the European flora, and its status in North Africa is unknown. On the basis of the lack of collections it is certainly rare. Brackish inland and coastal habitats for charophytes are usually under-valued by the general public. Many such habitats can be converted into salt-harvesting ponds, or drained, or used for coastal development. The status of saline ponds in Libya and North Africa in general is not known (Elbabour et al., 2017). In the Mediterranean region of Europe there is a large amount of coastal development and water use that could change the habitat parameters for this species." (Casanova 2024). - (23 January 2025) - M.D. Guiry
Habitat note
Waterbodies with variable salinity; tropical climate (Muller et al., 2017). - (31 October 2017) - G.M. Guiry
