Nomenclatural note
This is listed in INA as a superfluous and thus illegitimate name for Euastrum amoenum F.Gay. Markus Paul writes (e-mail Dec 2019) 'My conclusions: Compère noted E. denticulatum Gay as synonym of E. amoenum Gay. Ruzicka just doubted that E. denticulatum was a legitimate name. He wrote, that "Gay believed that his E. amoenum was a newer homonym of an E. amoenum Brebisson, for which he gave no citation". However, Ruzicka could not find any hint for a valid publication of E. amoenum Brebisson, it is not cited in the Index Desmidiacearum by Nordstedt (1896). Thus, Ruzicka kept the name E. denticulatum.'
