The type species (holotype) of the genus Aglaothamnion is Aglaothamnion furcellariae (J.Agardh) Feldmann-Mazoyer.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Aglaothamnion halliae (Collins) Aponte, D.L.Ballantine & J.N.Norris.
